Madrika is a dynamic new musical based on The Story of Madrika by Rosanna Pittella. Through music, song, and dance, the production brings vibrant life to the journey of a bright, curious 16-year-old girl living in a contemporary enchanted forest.
Adapted by librettist Terence Keyes, Madrika follows the young heroine as she discovers her extraordinary magical abilities—and the responsibility that comes with them. When darkness begins to threaten her world, Madrika must rise to protect her chosen family and mystical home.
Guided by a powerful and eclectic cast of allies—including loyal wolves, clever elves, gentle fairies, a fierce three-headed dragon, and a courageous young warrior—Madrika embarks on a transformational quest. Along the way, she learns that true strength comes from love, courage, and the magic within.

The Man Behind the Musical
Terence Keyes
Terene Keyes was selected to participate in the BMI Musical Theatre Workshop in New York City, after which he wrote three musicals for the Westchester Broadway Theatre in Elmsford, NY. WBT also presented an Equity production of his full-length drama-comedy, Change of Hearts, featuring Broadway veterans Jim Walton and Meg Bussert.
A member of the Dramatists Guild, Terry’s other full-length plays include Dancing for Brigid, Teach Us to Laugh Again, Push Comes to Shove, and The Dream is Born. His 15 one-act plays include Shake the Soul, Second Wind, Free Spirit!, and several musical adaptations of classic fairy tales.
Terry has directed 60 productions, from professional to educational, and performed in as many, including at WBT as Jesus in Godspell and Christopher Wren in The Mousetrap; at the Tarrytown Music Hall as Dennis Shephard in Laramie Project; and at the Emelin Theatre as Ken Talley in Fifth of July, Francis in Gemini, and Potiphar in Joseph…Dreamcoat. Other New York regional appearances include Peter Austin in It’s Only a Play, Gregory in Love! Valor! Compassion!, Beverly Carlton in The Man Who Came to Dinner, and Pontius Pilate in Jesus Christ Superstar.
With 40 years of service in higher education, Terry is currently a Professor at The College of Westchester in White Plains, NY, where he was bestowed the 2022 Faculty of the Year Award. He teaches such courses as Psychology, Critical Thinking, Conflict Resolution, Interpersonal Group Dynamics, Organizational Leadership, Contemporary Social Issues, and Public Speaking.
